Are you up for a wander East Kevin to take a few to the EALCA. I'm sure we could sort something out with the Nottingham boys to get a few birds down there, recipricate the Anglian boys journey to Nottingham, that would be good.

I always say that if ever they recast Only Fools and Horses any canaryman would be a shoe in for the role of Trigger , we know how to do some sweeping come the moult.
Now if the Last British Outpost Show ( commonly known as EALCA ) is back to a Sunday I shall be there . I only join one CBS and its show is on the Saturday which is why I had to miss last year. Oh how I misssed that drive across the Fens , stuck behind a tractor doing 12mph , when I got passed him it was my intention to give him a piece of my mind until I saw how big the bugger was ----I may be daft but I'm not stupid!
Once you get into East Anglia your sat nav goes all funny and you get instructions like " Go left by 'ere Boy"

Regards Paul.

Funniest Sign I Ever Saw

Postby Darren on Sun Jul 05, 2009 9:10 pm

Working on the roads for 19 years I've seen some things. Iv'e got to tell you about the funniest sign I have ever seen which was fixed to a farm yard gate in Kings Lynn, it read -

BEWARE OF THE DOG SHE BITE SHE DO

Now thats F*C*IN* funny you have to admit it.

Hi Darren
Well i have finished with 18, The moult has started and i hope i have got the colouring right this year, one or two are promising, i will keep my fingers crossed they all come through the moult. Ashbourne CBS had a small young stock show and sale the other week and we got more canaries then the budgerigars this year, guess what i did, yep swopped some equipment for a pair of mosiac agate colour canaries (i think) anyway they are alovely silver colour with small red markings.
Glad you have more lizards and i hope you nest all hatch

see you soon at the shows, Bridget

Biddy - 18 is not a bad number, ya can get a show team out of that I'm sure. Hope your birds moult through all right, youv'e got to defend yer title at kimberley again this year.

Youv'e got one pair of red mosaic's and its only July, by my reckoning that leaves you 7 months till the start of the next breeding season, you'd either best go to no more bird sales, or if you do take a shaperone.

PS - whats the crack with Shirebrook this year, is it on, is it off, not heard anything or seen anything in tweat weekly.

Kevin - I'm just big boned, me mother says so.

Kevin.

Look forward to seeing the pic of the blue, Be great if you Darren and any one else from your end of the country can get to the East Anglian, Norman Reeve was there last year, actual all the big guns were there, be nice to see el presidenta (ioa) there this year as well.
Biddy, well done on your 18, I breed red agate mosaic pastels and they are a joy along side the Lizards, and its great because you can show either the Agate or the Pastel.
Darren when is the Kimberley show on,As if the dates right i may take a journey,Trying to plan out all the shows now in advance so that I can stick them all on the calender, As i said last year get them on know so the wife gets used to the dates, cant say did,nt know.

How many you on know Darren???

Joe,

I'm on 16 and done. I've got 8 weaned and on the sticks, a nest of 1 approx 14 days, a nest of 2 approx 14 days, a nest of 1 approx 10 days and a nest of 4 @ 4 days. I just hope to god i don't lose any of the four cause 16 is a low enough number anyway.

Got 14 Stafford with a nest of 4 due off shortly

2 Japenese Hoso (19 days old) - proper weird but nice all the same. My six year old calls em funny fellows.

Be good to see you at Kimberley, it's a nice little club with a good Lizard turnout, Me and Kev were trying to put a number to the number of entries we could get. Iv'e seen his advert for show cages, i reckon he's gonna enter 55 this year. One side of one row of staging holds sixty Lizard, I reckon we'll blitz that this year, be nice to have the biggest section, maybe in a couple of years.

Andy,

You can't beat them tractors mate honest, the bigger the farmer, the more i like his tractor.

definateley gonna venture further afield this year, might even make the Southern.

Hi Darren

I havnt heard a dicky bird from Shirebrook CBS so have no idea if they are still going, i have all the show secretary stuff, i have printed 2 years of paper work printed and i have put the schedule on a disc so who ever takes over will only have to change dates and judges etc and print it.

Ashborne CBS is holding a open show on Saturday 31st October, Les Parkin, Albert Hallam, Jim Greatorex and a few others usually show lizards ( I hope ). I am working on the schedule and working on a £50.00 Best in Show, the money at Ashbourne CBS is very good, i will send you a schedule when finished and anybody else intrested in showing.

i wont have anythink to beat the gold cock from last year because as you now all my best birds refused to breed this year :x hopefuly next year they will make it up to me

All the best Bridget
