Re: BSOTY (Is it the new National)

Postby Darren on Mon Aug 03, 2009 9:30 pm

Somebody told me over the weekend that the BSOTY had purchased the rights from IPC Media (Cage & Avairy Birds) to be called the National, don't know if its true but i like the idea.

Sunday 11th October 2009

Question is this:

Who's judging Lizard?

And more importantly, who's taking any?

Come on fellas we must be able to get 100 birds there this year, imagine having the Classic & the National in the same month with loads of Lizard on display.

Only six weeks to go and counting.

Dave (Allen) do we have to request schedules / classifications or will they be posted on here or your own bird forum?

looking forward to receiving all your entries lad's. If anyone hasn't recieved a schedule please let me know and i can send you one or alternativley a copy can be found on my website, www.dtalizardcanary.co.uk
Just to confirm Alan coleman will be judging the Lizards. I have had phone call's asking if there will be any sale birds, so if you have a few spare why not put them in.
I think I should have 14 to 16 to show, seemed to have more Gold's than silver's.
get those entries in early as we have industrial action by the local mail centre, NOT BY ME!!!
looking forward to the start of the show season. david.

You can add a few from me , not sure yet as the moult isn't quite through and I'm having trouble getting them to settle down in the show cages but I'll be there.

still time to get your entries in, due to the postal problems [NOT ME} If you would like to phone your entries in you can and collect the labels on the day. the only problem is the access to the exhibition part as you would have a pass to again access to the entrance to the entrance for exhibition. But i could put one in the post for you and take a chance. Please support the LCA, because for every bird benched the LCA get £1.50 from the Parrot Society.
so come on get those entries in!!
cheers david

I was talking with Kevin McCullam and he tells me the OVCA section has 172 entries , last year they had 60 odd so it looks as if the 'New National' has really caught peoples imagination . which is good news but its so dam early . What worries me is that you might not see a true representation of the breeds as the better birds might still be at home in the cabin but hey ho its what we have and we have to make the best of it. I'm told the PS can't even think about moving the date which is a pity , Canaries not quite through the moult , miles to early for British Birds , Foriegn and Budgerigars just about come to the end of their show season . I'll see you all there on Sunday .

Regards Paul.
