East Midlands Lizard Canary Association

A few of us up here in the East Midlands meet on a regular basis at a CBS club which has a descent Lizard entry each show. We are lucky enough to have that and the Classic on our doorstep but we were just thinking.

Wouldn't it be great to have an another all Lizard show in Nottingham (not I must add to take over or rival the Classic) but to run along side it as does the Southern & the East Anglian.

It's a bit of a hot bed for Lizard up here in the Midlands and most people who have been spoken to about it would be willing to have a go and under take some kind of role within the association so that the work load is spread thinly and not heaped on one or two peoples shoulders as tends to happen, thus keeping it enjoyable and still a hobby, not a chore, sounds great so far doesn't it.

It looks like we have a venue where staging can be stored (99.9% certain this is the case), staging from a now sadly defunct CBS (no one wants to take on the work within said CBS) and a group of people who would like it to happen.

What we really need are a few more members to make it viable, if we can generate a bit of interest we would like to hold a meeting (probably in the same venue as show location because it has a bar - RESULT) just off the M1 @ junction 27 to assertain who does what where when etc and when we should hold the show.

If this sound of interest to anybody drop a reply on this forum and we can get things moving, in an ideal world we have about 13 - 14 months to sort things out but time soon flies by.

Have a think about it.

(PS - i have to add that this is the brain child of Kev Skinner, not me, i can just type faster and spell marginally better)

regards

Darren

I can't answer where they were on Sunday, I can only answer for myself.

The thought of say East Mids / Southern / East Anglian competing for points is an interesting one, you do however have a not so secret weapon within your arsenal, the Bolton atomic bomb.

andy, i agree poor turnout last week, but the notts exibitors made up a third of the exibitors, were hoping that a midland club will get new lizard keepers involved in showing, and hopefully they will attend the classic and get the numbers back to what it was.
