it may be marked down . but if you enter it as an overyear it will be wrong classed and not even considered. all is not lost because of a white tip to a tail, if its good in all other areas it may well do well' take a chance with it

Winning best novice

Postby Darren on Wed Oct 15, 2008 9:20 pm

chuffed to bits with the result, there were only two novice Lizard exhibitors
@ Kimberley but my competitor had some really nice birds as well.

Kimberley CBS will be trying for full patronage from the LCA next year (open show 22nd October 2009) so come on you novices lets have a full row of staging just for Lizards, trial run for the Classic thats the way to look @ it.

Any novices out there, where are you showing this year?

see you at the Classic.

regards

Darren

Kimberley CBS Members show

Postby Darren on Sun Nov 09, 2008 12:45 pm

Ladies / Gents

Kimberley CBS members show (approx £4.00 to join) is on Saturday 22nd November 2008 and is situated about 1 mile from M1 junction 26.

At the open show we had 40 Lizards (all members of Kimberley CBS) which is not a bad turnout for a local CBS.

the members show has diploma patronage from LCA and is being judged by the real Dave Allen.

It's not to late to join, please please give it some thought, it would be fantastic to better the open show entries.

If you stay all day as well you get well fed and watered for nothing if you steward.

If you fancy giving it a bash contact - Les Parkin 01773 836707.

If we can increase Lizard entries we can justify having an LCA panel judge at both shows (if we can get one).

Come on chaps you now it makes sense

Regards

Darren

Kimberley CBS Members show

Postby Darren on Sat Nov 22, 2008 7:09 pm

Just returned from Kimberley CBS members show where there was approx 42 no Lizards entered (10 novice & 32 Champion).

Best Novice - Bridget Boulton

Best Novice opposite - Wardle & Lowe

Best Champion - Albert hallam

Best flighted Champion - Herod & Slater

Sorry i can't remember the remainder

BEST LIZARD IN SHOW - BRIDGET BOULTON (NOVICE)

This show was judged by our very own Dave Allen, nect year at the Open show Dave Ross will be taking the reigns.

Well done to Bridget.

come on guys and girls, we are slowly building a following in the Midlands for this show, we reckon we have another couple of converts for next year but want more.

20 more birds at next years show would mean that 1 side of the staging is filled purely with Lizards, if Border & Fife can do it so can we.

Regards

Judges show report from Kimberley

Postby dtalizard stud on Sun Nov 23, 2008 10:24 pm

I had a very enjoyable morning judging at Kimberley, my firist as an LCA panel judge. {hopefully not my last] 42 lizard amazing for a members show, not many open show attract that many lizards well done.
there were some very nice birds some could have done with a bit more show training. i selected a clear cap gold cock for best Lizard a very nice bird with good colour and nice well defined spangles. This was a novice bird but still merited best lizard in my opinion
, Bridget Boulton. [Who later informed me it was bred from a bird she brought from myself 2 years ago] Best Champion went to albert Hallam with a non cap gold cock again carring good colour, but the spangles weren't as good as the novice bird in my opinion. The best flighted champion Lizard was a very nice bird indeed and actually it pushed close for best champion. I thought that the gold seemed of better quality than the silvers, the silvers seemed to lack depth in the spangles and defination.
I would like thank everyone at Kimberly for making me so welcome.
that is my kimberly show report. the real Dave Allen.

Is Bridget , Biddy on this forum?
Well done to her whoever she may be , and it just proves the point that a Novice can lift top honours with the Lizard .

Job well done by the sounds of it Dave for your first show as a full panel Judge .

Regards Paul.
