Hi all

Just like to say what a great surprise at Kimderley CBS me (i still ca'nt believe it) winning Best Lizard. There was some very nice birds at the show. My gold clear cap ,as David said, is out of a 05 silver non cap hen that i purchased from him ready for my first season breeding plan, I also purchased a 05 gold clear cap cock from Albert Hallam intending to put these together but i could'nt seem to get the cock fit, so had to forget that idea. I built a small out side flight on to the side of my shed to winter the birds i kept and this breeding season all the birds were fighting fit. I paired the two 05 together and apresto bred 5 very nice birds, so repeating the pairing (fingers crossed).
Thanks again David and i hope every body has had a good show season and next year i will be showing at the LCA.

Thats very good
Sorry about you losing your job, with this recession going on and people losing their jobs it's probable going to affect bird keepers in the long run.

Keep your spirits up.

Kimberley CBS AGM & Show Dates for 2009

Postby Darren on Sat Jan 10, 2009 8:14 pm

Ladies / Gents,

For those of you living around the East Midlands Kimberley CBS will be holding their AGM on Wednesday 21st January 2009 @ 19.30hrs @ the Church Hall in Kimberley.

This should be a good year for Lizard Canaries within the club, last year we had two Novice members & five Champion members so we were getting over 40 Lizards at the members show & the open show.

We want to try and increase these numbers this year so would dearly love more Lizard people to join, we need 20 more Lizards to fill one side of a row of staging, a whole row dedicated to Lizard, it's bloody marvelous to see.

I'm lead to believe we will be seeking LCA patronage this year so come on, if there are any breeders out there lets be seeing you there.

AGM - 21st January 2009 (19.30hrs)
Open Show - 10th October 2009
Members Show - 21st November 2009 (does clash with South Bucks)

Also a good turnout of the following birds:

Border
Fife
Gloster
New Colour
British

not many Foreign & no budgies last year but we can work at that.

If any LCA members get low numbers of Lizard at their CBS and would like to see an increase in numbers speak up, if you know theres going to be Lizard exhibitors then it's worth sending a team out, the more people see them the more interest we can generate. We currently have two breeders of other breeds who say the could be tempted to add Lizard's to their bird rooms, if we can do that then we have 9 Lizard breeders in our club.

Regards

Darren

Show season just over nine weeks away now, can't wait.

Kimberley CBS open show - SATURDAY 10TH OCTOBER 2009 (day before Stafford BSOTY) but well worth going to.

Dave Ross doing the honours

Would love to see more Lizard there, already talk of one of our own venturing up from down South, it's ideally located to pick up exhibitors from north , south & Midlands (M1 J26) 1 minute from motorway.

Sorry to bang on about this club but Lizard section is well supported, even more of a reason to venture out. It would be absolutely fantastic to get the Anglian boys up for a dry run for the Classic. I faithfully promise if we could do that i will personally round up the Midland boys and make them take their birds to the East Anglian at gun point, or failing that will offer to take their birds there for them, same applies to the Southern.

A bit of reciprical from all parties could see a huge increase in numbers to all events, that can only be a good thing.

Youv'e won with Normandy, we can't beat that.

Are you honestly married Paul, she must have the patience of a saint...PS - whats the secret you must have some serious trade offs with her to get away with it.

Not only married Darren , four kids to boot. The secret is to remember that God made woman from Adams rib , not so that she could be below him or above him , but at his side.

A bitchy women where my wife works once said to her "I would'nt let my husband do what yours does " to which my Jen said "Well at least when my husband comes home he smells of feathers and shite , not beer and skirt "----thats it Darren you'll be forgiven just about anything except another woman ---that they cannot forget or forgive . My Dad was the only man my Mother ever loved or went with ----he betrayed that trust and I saw what it did to her , vowed I find the right one and thank God I did.

Where we live we are considered odd , I mean I go to work (everyday) and my kids have only ever had one Dad , most of thier mates are on their third one.

But yes I know the rules ----the trip to Normandy has already cost me a Sky TV package for the holiday caravan , still negociating for the Golden Ring in November and The World Show in January. :D
