LCA NEWSLETTER....EMAIL

Postby lizandy on Mon Aug 31, 2009 9:53 pm

HI ALL
I HAVE JUST READ MY SUMMER 09 NEWSLETTER AND IM SO SHOCKED BY ITS CONTENT THAT IM DEEPLY SADDERNED.
1)A PERSON WHO HASNT SHOWN LIZARDS IN YRS IS STILL ON THE PANEL
2) A PERSON WAS VOTED ONTO THE COMMITEE BY THE COMMITTEE ........ONLY MEMBERS CAN VOTE A PERSON ON (AT THE AGM)
3)I AM STATED AS A 1 YR CHAMPION......YET I SHOWED AS A CHAMPION IN 2007 AND 2008
4)IT WAS AGREED AT THE AGM THAT A MEMBER CAN DO HIS JUDGEING TRAINING AFTER 2 YRS AS A CHAMPION SO IN HIS 4TH YR HE/SHE MAY IF UPON PASSING BE ALOUD TO JUDGE....................????????? STAN BOLTON PROPOSED THIS AS WE SO SHORT OF JUDGES.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE.....AFTER THE AGM AT THE 2008 CLASSIC WITH A VIEW TO ALL THE CHANGES I ASKED THE CHAIRMAN (J.MARTIN) IF HE WOULD BE ONE OF MY TUTORS......HE FULLY AGREED........ALSO (N.REEVE) ALSO AGREED AS A RESERVE
AT THE SOUTHERN LCC BOTH NORMAN AND MYSELF APPROACHED (J.RECORD) TO TRY AND ARRANGE A LOCAL SHOW TO DO MY TUTORING AND JOHN KINDLY OFFERED TO TUTOR ME AT LEICESTER SA NOV 7TH O9......AS FAR AS I WAS AWARE AT THAT TIME IT WAS JOB DONE.
dave kindly pointed out that i should of put in a written request (on this forum) as that is in the rules.........not ever haveing seen an LCA rulebook how can anybody guess whats in it. but the fact that the chairman and sectuary of the lca were aware and granted their permission should surffice i would of thought. we are a small band of fanciers who all luv a rare canary and if we keep on as we are it will get rarer.
aparently there are over 100 members of the LCA with many abroard who will now be recieving this newsletter for themselves and with all the 4 above facts there for them to read we look like a bunch of amatures who cant even run our own section let alone contribute to europe

hi andy, just to respond to one of your items listed,, no 4,,,in the newsletter, item 11,a any person can now apply to become a panel judge irrespective of status and number of years at champion status, it is only a reccomendation about 3 yrs as champion, as i understand he new rule ,eah application will be decide on merit, not on how many years they heve had champion status, i hpoe this clarifys this for you, m advice would be to contact dave allen by email to put yourself forward to do the training.. all the best kevin

tnx kevin but i guess we will have to wait till the agm for the minutes to be read out to clarafi the matter as i think its 2 yrs as a champion. min. the way the news letter reads...anybody can be asked to be put on the panel...even if you dont keep lizards......was told today one panel judge hasnt show lizards in about 15 yrs and also once training has been completed THEN you applie to the council who either grant it or not..............im at a loss.
i was also surprised at the comments about the european lizards and judges.........I BET JULES ETIEEN IS REALING. as in 2007 he brought birds to the classic and got a few 1st placeings (i know his broken cap silver cock was 1st cos i was 2nd in that class....oopps acording to the newsletter i wasnt a champion till 2008 which was last season.( i benched 13 birds and got 11 placed ,,1 1st and in bcsc class was 2nd 3rd and 4th out of 21) stan bolton won it arrrrrrh lol
maybe its just as well i dont judge as iv just had the good news that iv got ulsers in both eyes and i might put a blue up for best in show thinking its a silver lol

Hi andy.I would like to respond to the points that you raised and hopefully clear up some of the confusion
1. person who has not shown lizards for 15 years still left on the judging list, the gentleman in question has always been an accomplished judge,he wants to stay on the list, and the unofficial rule is that a judge has to keep lizards, and the council felt this was not the time to remove him due to judges being so thin on the ground.

2. Person voted onto the Council by the Council,I cant see anywhere in the minutes where that has happened, however it is incorrect to say that only members can vote someone onto the Council. The rule is that the council has full powers to act and have control over the procedures, and management of the Association

3. You are stated as a 1 year champion, yet showed as a champion in 2007 and 2008,which is 2 years. The one year was the information given at the Council meeting, and as it is wrong,I am sorry

4. It was agreed at the agm that the propoal put up by stan bolton would be discussed
at the Council meeting, that is in the minutes of that meeting. It was fully discussed
and I think a good decision was made, which went further than the original proposal
It is that anyone can apply to go onto the trainee judges scheme,,but the recommendation is that a full three years as a champion breeder should be completed, the Council will have the final say if the applicant is suitable.

5.I can confirm that you did approach me about doing your trainee judging with me,and
and I would have been more than happy to have taken you on board,I also said that you would have to wait til the Patronage list comes out to advise Dave Allen which shows you want to do your training at.The point is you have to let us know so that Dave can ask permission of the Show promoting society and the judge that has been engaged.that judge will then report back to the Council at the next council meeting, and if that report is favourable then you will go straight onto the Judges list.I also make the point that i only have one judging engagement this year, which is the Classic. Not a show suitable for taking a trainee judge on

6.Members of the Council exspessed their concerns over the showing of mutations and the standard of judging on the continent, its no coincidence that the largest lizard show in Italy at Bologna always engages a judge from U.K.because they respect our standards,no where in the minutes can i see any critism of European lizards, your comments on Jules birds were spot on,he had some very nice exhibits, and I should know
as I was one of the judges.

We are going to try and get some information into the next newsletter about how to go about getting onto the trainee judges scheme, and finaly I would make the plea that you
try and do your training this year ,andy,as we could do with some new judges to come onto the judges panel

Hope this clarifys your points
