Hello everybody

Came across your website by accident and have enjoyed reading the various topics and exchange of information between everyone from around the world.

I emigrated to Perth Western Australia from Yorkshire in 1989 and began breeding canaries 6 years ago. Started with Fife's (great little bird) tried Glosters (no joy) and finally discovered the Liazrd at the 2006 Australian National.

Here in Oz, both colour fed and natural types are shown and it is the natural lizard that I breed. This year will be my 4th Lizard year and I am just beginning to get some consistency from the line breeding.

White ground (blue, not sure what you call them in the UK?)) are my favourite. Our breeding season down under runs from September to February and show season starts with Nest feather shows in Nov & Dec, followed by Table and Open shows April, May, June with the National held in July in a different state each year. 2009 was in Brisbane and there were approx 800 birds across all breeds exhibited. Liards in total were about 90 birds.

Look forward to reading more and staying in touch.

Nice to hear from you Lizard from oz, quite topical you like blues. Are there other colour variants exhibited in Oz aside from Gold, Silver & Blue?

Hi Lizard from OZ,

I too live in Perth and would like to come into contact with you. I have not managed to find any lizard breeders in Perth yet.
I managed to buy 3 clear cap lizards from 3 different birdshops but would like to buy birds from a reputable lizard breeder.

Cheers, Jake

Thats only slightly more than you charge for them Andy isn't it (LOL)

A few years ago my mate emigrated to OZ and took his horrible jack russell with him cause his missus wouldn't go without it. After 3 years they came back cause his missus missed home. After a further 2 years they went back cause his missus missed oz, and guess what, the bloody dog went back again. Ironically it was a rescue dog, it cost them £40.00, based on what you are saying Andy it is the most expensive dog in Australia.
