Hello again!

Postby Casper on Wed May 13, 2009 7:48 pm

Hi all,

I originally joined the forum last year but due to lack of activity (on my part) have re-joined. I started off with a pair of lizards in the June/July, then had to have one of the pair put down as she was very unwell. I managed to obtain what I thought was a replacement female, but has since turned out to be a boy!!!!!!!! As far as my lizards are concerned, my aim for this year is to find two hen birds, and also learn as much as I can about them. Hopefully breed from them eventually as well.

Many thanks, Libby :)

hi libby, you would probably be better waiting until later in the year to buy new birds, and then starting your breeding next april, what part of the country are you? its good your back on the site, pick up as much info as you can, it will make for a better breeding season next year, good luck

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your tips - I've earmarked next year as a potential year for breeding lizards and am very much looking forward to seeing baby canaries. (I'm in Hertfordshire, and am very close to the Bucks border). Am hoping that anything I learn from the website will help me with my other canaries also.

Libby :)

South Bucks

Postby Darren on Fri May 15, 2009 8:39 pm

Libby,

I'm almost sure South Bucks has a large canary show (run by John Record LCA Secretary) which has a good Lizard turnout. I'm positive someone from the forum would be willing to meet you there with a true pair of Lizard, 2 hens or whatever you wanted.

Shout up early, someone will earmark birds for you.

Regards

Darren

Hi everyone,

Many thanks for your help & advice - I would definitely say yes to two hens! That would be great. (Mind you, a true lizard pair would also go down well).

What sort of time of year is the South Bucks canary show? Just so I know when to speak up!

Thank you,

Libby

SOUTH VBUCKS IS MY SHOW

Postby dtalizard stud on Tue Jun 02, 2009 4:24 pm

yes thats right Paul, South Bucks is mine!!!!
It is a very good show although I am biased. It had over 20 varieties of canaries on show last year, with the largest display of Frill's anywhere in the UK last year.
in 2009 the show will be on Saturday 21st of November.
anyone wishing a schedule send thier details to me and I will forward you a copy.
David Allen.
