try leaving them in one side of cage with wire partition in put strong singing ck any breed other side ,sometimes kicks them into territory protection mode and they bond stronger, hens are notoriously promiscous, has worked for me in the past.

If she is sitting on the nest but not laying try putting a single dummy egg under her, then introduce the cock back to the hen so he can mate. this some times encourages the hen to laid. I have dones this myself with an 5 year old hen that would lay and it worked but not sure if the eggs and any good yet, fingers crossed.

room to move

Postby john boy on Mon Jun 08, 2009 8:10 am

ive had hens that wouldnt go down and have put them in my outside flights only to go down after a week or two,and have round after round,it may be a instinct to have more room before breeding,i dont know but this has worked umpteen times for me.you could also change her position in the room, from top to bottom cage etc this has also worked for me.
