nice idea paul........so why did the old timers produce black legs with rich colour in the body by covering the cages with brown paper or sacking to darken the cages????????
truth is you got to find a happy medium i guess ..........sun for black legs and darkness for colour.....dam i luv this challenge

you could always wrap the birds in brown paper leaving the legs bare ,then moult in direct sunlight.....lol
