only 1 comment from me..............get them seperated into single cages QUICK. sadly looking at bottom pic its to late for the broken cap as he has a split tail and overyers feathers in the wing......clear caps look good and the broken cap is nicely split. (hard to be more accurate from pics)

lets hope theres a few hens to increase stocks over there

Top picture , I recognise the bird to the left , the over year , because its one I sent over :D Can't recall without looking in my book if its a Cock or Hen but I think its a hen !

Andy is right Don , a lost feather now will spoil the whole year because each time a feather grows back it deteriates a little . They are looking OK Don , still a little early to tell but it looks like the colour is coming through OK so you've got the hang of the colour feeding . Must make you feel good helping to establish the Lizard in Ireland and you haven't let us down .

Regards Paul.

thanks andy,i appericate your comments, thats what i was thinking with the split tail feathers my perches were to close to the side wall of the breeding cage.

i never copped it till i looked closer at the housing they were in.there tail feathers are(i think?)a bit longer than the gloster i keep.
yes paul its the hen i got off nevile towards the end of the breeding season, she is a good rearing hen always going about her buisness.
got some more birds recently some nice birds so lets hope for next year.
thanks to all.don

If memory serves me right, the pink and white split ring is indeed a hen.

Of the three youngsters in the top pic i would say the middle one is the better of the three, the one nearest the camara is slightly over capped whilst the one at the back looks to have a mishaped cap, still, with the colour coming through they look nice birds.

WELL DONE
