Show in France.

Postby lizcol on Mon May 25, 2009 7:34 pm

The L'amicle Ornithologique De Normandie ( The Friendly Bird Club of Normandy ) have joined with the CTC ( Club Technique De Canaris De Couleurs , the equivalent of the UK's CCBA ) to present the only show to be held under the auspices of the C.O.M. in France during 2009. This International status show , held in Canteleu -Seine Maritime , will run from the 27th October 2009 to the 1st of November 2009 , opening to the public on Saturday 30th October & Sunday 1st November. Alongside the show will be a sales area ,again open to the public on the Saturday & Sunday .

Canteleu -Seine Maritime is approximately 136 miles from Calais and a mere 50 miles from Dieppe making it easily reachable for exhibitors and visitors alike and Jean Marie Bihet , President of the CTC , assures a warm welcome to UK exhibitors and visitors.

The IOA are committed to supporting shows held under the auspices of the COM and Paul Brockman will be conveying birds to this show on behalf of members & affiliate members that wish to participate .This show might be of particular interest to members of the CCBA given there is a very large Colour Canary section with a full schedule , as well as exhibitors of traditional posture & type canaries , again with classes to suit all varieties. Foreign & Parrotlike are accepted but please note there are no classes for British Birds.

The organisers will provide show cages for both the exhibition & the sales area ( and administer sales) and are particularly keen to have UK type canaries entered into the sale as well as the show. All birds to be rung with ID Colour Coded rings , 2009 for exhibition , 2008 /2009 for the sale.

There are classes at this show for both Golds and Silvers and if anyone requires more information just get in touch .

Regards Paul.

I am still intrested in showing in France, Paul do you have any details of the classes yet. is it simliar to the World show or do they have a wide classification.
I should have a reasonable team to show this year, i will try and push the mistro [stan bolton] again this year but we will have to wait as see what the rest of you boy's have got in your shed's. But my money on Stan still giving us the run around!

Well no medals for me with the Lizards , the highest scoring bird I had was a non cap gold hen with 89 points . However I did take a Gold, 2 Silvers & a Bronze with my Hoso & Scotch Fancy. The Whole of Team GB did very very well , Les Summers had 5 Golds 4 Silvers and a Bronze with Irish Fancy . Neville Gaunt became the first ever UK colour canary exhibitor to take medals at a COM show with a Gold and a Silver . Brian Hogg had two Golds and a Silver with Lancashire and Crestbred . The star of the show was Saviour Camalerri's team of Norwich , 3 Golds and a Silver , his Buff Cock went on to be Best Posture Canary in Show .

Now the LCA are to affiliate to the IOA I hope to be taking many more of your birds to COM shows next year ----one of you could be the first UK lizard breeder to take COM Gold , Dave Alan has opened the door ( and I have to admit that I hope he secures a medal at the Mondail, he deserves it ) ----with ,to my knowledge, still the highest scoring UK lizard 'sur le continant'.

Regards Paul.

I know Savy is well pleased, he does have some good Norwich. But he did say they weren't is best Paul. I hope to enter a Stam of Lizards in Porto and a really hoping to go a few points better than last year and maybe pick up a medal.
thanks for the kind words Paul. wouldn't it be nice to pick up a few medals with your Hoso's my Lizards amd Savy's Norwich, we could really show the boy's in Europe.

I still don't know how this happened but after I'd been presented to the Deputy Mayor of Cantelue , (seen holding his IOA badge ) Image

and after being presented with the Medal De Com

I ended up judging the singing Grandma's Competition

Its a strange old job being President of the IOA
